This week we get into more classic action by celebrating all that is the proper Glasgow clubbing institution that is Club 69. While all the plaudits go to The Arches and Sub Club, 69 is where the real magic happened.
The unlikely spot under an Indian Restaurant in an out lying town of Glasgow was taken over by the founders of Rub a Dub Records, where ground breaking music was being spun out with firm roots stretch over from Detroit. This was the place where Numbers, Hudson Mohawke, Marco Bernardi, Konx-om-Pax and more got deep into a vibe that influenced their musical careers.
This Saturday there’s a 69 Classics Night celebrating all the seminal tunes that made the night such a draw for those in the know. Rather than one classic this week we are picking a bunch from the excellent 69 Classics event Facebook page.
